Hall of Fame

Husky Athletics Hall of Fame

The Husky Hall of Fame was started in 1998.  Ten people were inducted as “charter members” of the group.  Five more were added in 1999.  Since then the number of inductees each year is limited to two or three.

The criteria for eligibility are:

  1. a graduate of North, at least five years out of high school
  2. a retired coach or staff member
  3. a long-time supporter of North athletics

Nominees are a blend of people; some from the early years, some from the recent past, some male, and some female.  We have also inducted both a family and a group, as well as a couple.  A long list of nominees is reviewed each year by a committee and selections are made.  Awards are presented during half-time of our Homecoming football game.  Amazingly, all but two of our inductees have been present the night of their induction.  The others were represented by family members.

Each inductee receives a plaque to take with them as well as having a picture plaque mounted on the wall in our Hall of Fame at North High School.  Inductees are guests of honor at a picnic reception in Carson Park before the game and receive complimentary tickets for themselves and their families for reserved seats in the main grandstand at game time.

We have had nothing but positive feedback about this award, and continue to hear from past graduates and people in the community with nominations.  We look forward to  many more years of celebrating the contributions so many have made to the Husky Athletics program.
